On grand and baby grand pianos we carefully remove the legs, pedal lyre, and music desk, and lower and lock the lid. Each part is wrapped and labeled separately so nothing gets scratched or lost.
Wrapping
The full body is wrapped in thick moving blankets and secured so the finish, keys, and pedals are fully protected before it ever leaves the room.
Mount & Strap
Grand pianos are tipped onto a padded piano skid board; uprights go onto a heavy-duty 4-wheel piano dolly. Everything is locked down with ratchet and lifting straps.
Safe Transport
We roll the piano out on dollies, use hydraulic lift ramps for stairs and the truck, and strap it upright against the truck wall so it can't shift in transit.
Reassembly & Placement
At the destination we reverse the process — unwrap, reattach the legs, pedal lyre and lid, level the piano in its final spot, and do a full walkthrough with you.
