How much does it cost to move a hot tub in Seattle?

Every hot tub move in Seattle is quoted individually, so we don't publish prices. The size and weight of the spa, stairs or slopes, the distance from the truck to the tub, gates and fences, and how far it's going all shape your quote. Call or text +1 206-203-4999 for a free, no-obligation quote.

Which hot tub service do you need?

Most hot tub jobs fall into one of three types: moving a tub to a new home or a new spot on the same property, removing and hauling away an old spa, or picking up a tub from a seller or showroom and delivering it to your pad. Tell us which one when you call.

📦 Hot Tub Delivery

Bought a used tub from a private seller or need one moved from a showroom? We pick it up and deliver it to your pad.

What types of hot tubs do you move?

We move portable acrylic hot tubs from two-person to eight-person models, soft-sided and inflatable spas and many deck-mounted tubs. Swim spas, built-in and in-ground spas depend on their size and how they were installed, so send us photos first. Size, weight and access decide how we plan the move.
Hot tub sizes and weights at a glance
Hot tub typeTypical sizeWhat to know
Portable acrylic, 2–4 personAbout 6–7 ftAbout 400–700 lb empty; moves on its side on a spa dolly
Portable acrylic, 5–8 personAbout 7–8 ftOften 700–1,000+ lb empty; extra crew for slopes and steps
Inflatable / soft-sidedVariesLight when empty, but pumps and liners still need care
Swim spa12–20 ft longSeveral thousand pounds; call us first so we can tell you what it needs
Built-in / deck-mountedVariesDepends on how it was installed; we look at photos before quoting

Weights are typical ranges for empty tubs. A filled hot tub can weigh 3,000–4,000+ lb, which is why it must be drained first.

How do we move your hot tub?

We start with photos of the route, confirm the tub is drained and disconnected, remove the cover and steps, tip the spa onto its side on a spa dolly, lay plywood where the ground is soft, strap it into the truck and set it level on its new pad.

How do you prepare a hot tub for moving?

Drain the tub completely, have the power shut off and disconnected, take the cover off, measure the narrowest point of the path and clear the route. If you do those five things before we arrive, the move is faster, safer and simpler for everyone.
💧

Drain It

Start draining the day before. Leave the cover off so the shell and the plumbing can dry out a little.

⚡

Disconnect the Power

Shut off the breaker and have a qualified electrician disconnect the tub from the power supply.

📏

Measure the Path

Measure gates, side yards and any tight spots, then send us the numbers with the tub's dimensions.

🧹

Clear the Route

Move planters, furniture, hoses and toys out of the path from the tub to the street.

🧱

Prepare the New Base

Have a level concrete pad or a deck confirmed by a contractor ready before move day.

Can you move a hot tub on Seattle slopes and wet yards?

Yes. Seattle backyards are rarely flat, and from October to April they're rarely dry. We plan the route around the slope, lay plywood over mud and soft lawn, add crew for steep sections and take extra care on wet decks and steps.
⛰️

West Seattle & Magnolia Slopes

Hillside homes often have yards below or above the street. We plan the climb and keep the spa strapped and controlled.

🪵

Raised Decks

Deck-level spas need a clear route up and a deck that can carry the load. We'll ask about both before move day.

🌧️

Mud Season

Rain turns lawns to mud. Plywood and tracks keep the dolly rolling and protect your yard.

🚚

Ballard & Fremont Alleys

Alley access can make a hot tub move easier or harder. We check where the truck can stop before we quote.

When do you need a crane to move a hot tub?

Only when there's no ground route. If the yard is closed in by the house, the tub sits on a high deck with no stairs, or a swim spa is too large for the side yard, lifting it over may be the only safe option. Send us photos and we'll tell you what your yard needs.

Bought a used hot tub? We'll pick it up.

Yes. Many Seattle hot tub moves start with a Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace listing. Send us the listing photos and both addresses, make sure the seller drains and disconnects the tub, and we'll pick it up from their yard and set it on your pad.

Hot tub movers across Puget Sound

Every yard is different. Here's what hot tub moves look like around Seattle.

📍

Seattle

Seattle hot tub moves are about access: hillside yards in West Seattle and Magnolia, alley-loaded lots in Ballard, and tight side yards across the city. We look at photos of the path before we quote.

📍

Bellevue

Bellevue backyards often sit below the house on sloped lots with daylight basements. We plan the route down and protect the lawn on the way.

📍

Sammamish

Sammamish homes on the plateau tend to have big yards and large spas, so we bring enough crew for heavy six- and eight-person tubs.

📍

Issaquah

From the Issaquah Highlands to the older neighborhoods by the creek, Issaquah yards often mean grade changes and retaining walls. We use plywood and straps to keep the spa steady on the slope.

📍

Redmond

Redmond hot tub moves range from Education Hill backyards to newer homes with narrow side yards. We measure the side yard first so there are no surprises on move day.

📍

Kirkland

Kirkland's hillside homes above Lake Washington often have terraced yards and deck-level spas. We plan the route down the terraces and protect the decking where the tub sits.

📍

Renton

Renton hot tub moves take in the Renton Highlands, Kennydale and the neighborhoods around Lake Washington. Pickups from a private seller's yard to a new pad across town are welcome too.

📍

Kent

Kent moves split between the flat valley floor and the steeper lots on East Hill and West Hill, where extra crew handles the slope.

📍

Bothell

Bothell hot tub moves often start on a back patio and end on a new pad across town. We set the spa where you want it so your electrician can reconnect it.

📍

Everett

Everett hot tub jobs include relocations, removals of old spas and pickups from private sellers across the north end. The rainy months get extra plywood for soft lawns.

📍

Tacoma

Tacoma hot tub moves range from older in-city yards to newer homes in the south end. Alley access and narrow gates are common, so we measure before we quote.

📍

Puyallup

Puyallup yards are often larger, with long walks from the driveway to the pad. Plywood keeps the tub rolling instead of dragging.

Common questions

Every hot tub move is quoted individually, so we don't publish prices. The size and weight of the spa, stairs or slopes, the distance from the truck to the tub, gates and fences, and the distance to the new address all shape the quote. Call or text +1 206-203-4999 for a free quote.
Yes. The hot tub must be completely drained before move day; a full tub weighs several thousand pounds and can't be moved safely. Start draining the day before, and leave the cover off for a few hours so the shell can dry out.
No, a qualified electrician does both. The power has to be shut off at the breaker and the tub disconnected before we arrive, then reconnected after the move. We handle the moving, the placement and setting the tub level on its new pad.
Most hot tubs travel on their side, which makes them much narrower. Measure the narrowest point of the path, including gates, side yards and the gap between the house and the fence, and send it to us with the tub's dimensions. We'll tell you if it fits.
Yes. Sloped Seattle lots, deck stairs and terraced yards are common. We use spa dollies, straps and extra crew to keep the tub controlled, and we lay plywood or tracks where the ground is soft or uneven.
Usually not. A crane only comes into play when there is no ground route at all, for example a yard fully enclosed by the house or a tub on a high deck with no stairs. If that's your situation, we'll tell you during the quote and talk through the options.
Yes. If the old spa is going away for good, we move it out of the yard, load it and haul it away for disposal. It still has to be drained and disconnected first. Tell us when you call whether you're moving the tub or getting rid of it.
Yes. Send us the listing photos, the seller's address and your address. We'll plan the pickup, move it out of the seller's yard and set it on your pad. Make sure the seller drains and disconnects it before we arrive.
A filled hot tub puts a very heavy load on a small area, so not every deck can hold one. Have a contractor or structural engineer confirm your deck before we set a tub on it. A level concrete pad or a reinforced base is the safest home for a spa.
Yes, in most Seattle weather. We wrap the tub, lay plywood over wet lawn and mud, and take extra care on slick decks and steps. If heavy rain or wind makes the move unsafe, we'll reschedule with you rather than take chances.
